This is an excellent opportunity to join a well known high street retailer. They have grown rapidly over recent years and are now looking to expand their head office buying team.

It is essential you are a strong negotiator and have extensive retail buying experience within a fast moving customer focused environment. E.g. FMCG, Food, Drink, Household, Health and Beauty, Electrical, DIY, Home & Leisure etc

Key areas of the role will include:

• Negotiation of supplier trading terms to meet financial targets

• Building a market leading range incorporating branded and own label products

• Competitor Analysis

• Continually sourcing new suppliers

• Range management and category planning

• Category marketing / promotional planning

• Working cross functionally with other key business areas e.g. supply chain and technical

Applicants should have the following skills and attributes:

• Highly developed negotiation skills

• Buying experience gained within a fast paced multi-site retail environment

• Excellent supplier management skills

• Excellent relationship building skills

• Strong commercial acumen

• Accountability for achieving and excelling company targets
