Salary - £50,000-£65,000 + Substantial Bonus + Share Scheme

Our client is a leading worldwide retailer who is looking for an experienced, proven buyer with natural flair and strong analytical skills.

The relevant candidate will be responsible for obtaining products and services of the best quality and at the best value.

The Senior Buyer coordinates buying activities with the in stock team to acquire stock in a cost effective and timely manner. They are responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity. Senior Buyers must develop new supply sources where buyers and suppliers are no longer competitive and strive to make cost savings. They interact closely with buyers and quality assurance to resolve quality issues and works with management to address all aspects of buying management. This includes procurement support, category business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability. The Senior Buyer is expected to be able to manage the buyers and complex negotiations, and execute with little direction from Senior Management.

The Senior Buyer is responsible for: • Actual purchasing activities in a cost effective and timely manner

• Performing cost-analysis and volume planning for all publisher/distributors in media categories

• Planning schedules and monitors the movement of stock and is responsible for overseeing replenishment

The Senior Buyer will take responsibility for:

• Strategic initiatives

• Pushing margins

• Daily/weekly buys, deal-buys, and seasonal buys

• Project Management and promotional planning and preparation.

The Senior Buyer serves as the primary point of contact with larger suppliers, taking initiatives to come up with business enhancements i.e. annual terms contracts. Furthermore they will be able to help set strategic direction for the category.
