We are currently working in partnership with a market leading retailer. They are looking to recruit a talented commercially driven retail professional to join their head office team.

This is a senior management position and it is essential that applicants have man-management experience and can demonstrate creation and implementation of category trading strategies.

Key Accountabilities:

• To deliver or exceed budgeted margin, sales and profit targets

• Leading and influencing your category buying team

• Supplier relationship management

• Creation and delivery of category strategy

• To deliver products and develop the range to meet the needs of the customer

• Undertake range reviews to maximise performance

• Promotional planning

• Customer Insights

• Pricing

• Building partnerships and cross functional working

• Team Leadership

Skills/Knowledge Required:

• Commercially aware, with strong intellectual, analytical and numerical skills

• Buying experience gained for a leading retailer

• Articulate, persuasive negotiator with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

• Enjoys working in a fast paced commercial trading environment

• Able to handle a pressurised working environment

• Commercially aware, with strong intellectual, analytical and numerical skills

• Ability to coach and manage team members

To be successful in this role you will enjoy working in a fast paced and dynamic retail environment and be comfortable liaising with board level colleagues.
