- Our client is a leading FMCG retailer who are looking for a business minded individual with a strong retail commercial background with an in-depth knowledge of the Convenience sector.
The role will be responsible for setting the strategy, looking at range selection and negotiation of promotions to suit customer requirements and achieving company margin targets.
This position will include:- Negotiating trading terms with suppliers
- Insightful and fast and through data analysis
- Critically looking at reports
- Driving down operational costs
- Directly managing a large supplier base
- Working well within a team and individually to achieve results
Candidates must be have the following skills and attributes:- A natural at building and maintaining relationships
- Convenience retail experience gained as a Buyer or National Account Manager
- Ability to provide commercial leadership and guidance to the rest of the team
- Willing to challenge both colleagues and suppliers at all levels
- Able to maximise sales and profits
- Able to improve processes and build on successful processes
- Articulate and enthusiastic communicator
- Strategic thinker, both the short and the long term
- Ability to make complex business decisions using data driven management information systems
