Senior BI / Data Engineer

We have an opportunity within the consumer channel for a Senior Engineer to work across a variety of projects relating to business intelligence, data management and back end development.

The purpose of the role is to ensure all reporting products are able to fully meet business requirements, being accessible to all profiles and able to lead users to allow quick and highly informed commercial decision making.

Knowledge & skills required:

• Degree educated within a technical discipline, ideally additional courses relating to data management or similar
• Proven record in building complex new systems and tools within a multisite, nationally recognised business
• Manage large datasets and be responsible for data quality and management, deploying large warehousing techniques
• Excellent stakeholder management abilities and communication skills, both digital and interpersonal. This role will require presentations to numerous senior management or board level individuals
• Strong SQL skills able to extract information and generate insight from both relational and multidimensional databases
• Ability to spot weaknesses in proposition and advise internal contacts on corrective actions required
• Work cross-functionally to ensure smooth integrations as needed and play an active role collaborating to share best practice and guide more junior team members
• Commercially minded, able to manage projects to deliver on time in a cost-effective manner
