- Are you a foodservice / catering / retail food buying professional looking for a fresh career challenge within an innovative an exciting leisure and hospitality environment?
Our client is a market leading leisure brand operating an extensive catering / foodservice operation nationwide. They are investing in the growth of the buying funcation and as such are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Buyer / Buying Manager into a newly created role within the structure.
You will be given full responsibility to procure a range of food products with the autonomy to make the day to day and strategic decisions that will have a direct impact on the success of the organisation
Key areas of the role will include:
• Managing and developing a small team of Buyers, Assistant Buyers and Supply Chain Professionals
• Setting the commercial sourcing strategy across all food, beverages, non-food and indirects
• Implementing sustainable and local sourcing strategies wherever practical ensuring highest possible standards, quality and value are achieved
• Negotiation of supplier trading terms to meet financial targets
• Identifying new product development opportunities
• Development of supply chain solutions
• Continually sourcing new suppliers
• Range management and category planning
• Working cross functionally with other key business areas e.g. supply chain and technical
Applicants should have the following skills and attributes:
• Highly developed negotiation skills
• Foodservice buying experience for a sector leading business
• Excellent supplier management skills
• Excellent relationship building skills
• Strong commercial acumen – accountability for achieving and excelling company targets
• A highly self-motivated individual
Candidates with experience in buying any foodservice / catering product range will be considered including ambient, grocery, frozen, chilled, fresh, meat, fish and dairy.
